India alone has more than ten major scripts, each with its own logic. Here is what to watch for when you letter them.

- Bengali: like Devanagari it has a headline (matra), but many letters break it. Keep loops open and round.
- Gurmukhi (Punjabi): a headline joins letters; doubled sounds use the addak sign ੱ rather than a written cluster.
- Tamil: no headline, rounded forms and a dot (pulli) to silence a consonant. Keep letter heights even.
- Kannada and Telugu: rounded letters with a “headmark” on top of many characters. Balance the loops.
- Malayalam: wide, circular letters and special chillu forms at word endings (ൻ ർ ൽ ൾ).
- Gujarati: Devanagari-like letters without a headline, so even spacing does the work.
- Arabic and Urdu: written right to left with connected letters; proportions are measured in qalam dots.
The generator handles the complex shaping of all these scripts automatically, so you can focus on choosing a style and a layout.
